Nurse (RN or LPN) Job Description
NOTE: Nurses are hired on a week by week basis. Some nurses choose to work multiple weeks, others come for a single week. Occasionally we employ a camp doctor in lieu of a nurse.
Nurses live in the health center on the Lake.
- Collect and catalogue all camper and staff medical forms and medications at the time of registration
- Be present on camp at all time in the event of emergency
- Distribute all medication
- Follow established guidelines and standing orders of camp doctor
- Maintain contact with parents of ill or injured campers
- Carry radio when not in the health center
- Serve as emergency contact (carry beeper) for parents
- Keep record of every complaint, treatment, or transaction with a patient
- With camp director, help with homesickness
- Represent Pilgrim Lodge in a professional manner consistent with its mission statement
