Trainers Rev. Elizabeth Barnum (United Church of Christ) and Rev. Lara K-J Campbell (Unitarian Universalist) will provide All Adult Levels of the Our Whole Lives curriculum to prepare participants to facilitate training with adults.

Our Whole Lives (OWL) is a comprehensive, lifespan, age-appropriate sexuality education curriculum developed by the United Church of Christ and the Unitarian Universalist Association. Our Whole Lives programs help participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, Our Whole Lives not only provides facts about anatomy and human development, but also helps participants clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.

Prior to the training, participants will need to purchase the curriculum for the level they will be facilitating first as follows:

Young Adult “updated reprint 2023“

  • Our Whole Lives: Sexuality Education for Young Adults
  • Sexuality and Our Faith for Young Adults

Older Adults

  • Our Whole Lives: Sexuality Education for Older Adults
  • Sexuality and Our Faith for Older Adults

These are available through UCC Resources or the UUA Bookstore.  UCC participants who order through UCC Resources can receive a 20% discount (email info@pilgrimlodge.org for the discount code).

Approximately 3.5 hours of pre-work is to be done PRIOR to the training, which includes watching a webinar, a meditation, and writing reflections. You will receive more specific information about this and access to training materials two weeks prior to the training. These assignments must be completed in order for a participant to be approved to facilitate.

Participants have a choice to arrive at Pilgrim Lodge on Wednesday, June 16 between 4-6 PM to enjoy dinner and settle in or by 8:30 AM on Thursday, June 17 to begin training. Lodging is in cabins of 3-5 people with a shared bathroom and shower. All cabins have electricity and hot water in the shower. Training will end by 4:30 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2027.

Meals and lodging will be provided with the registration fee as follows:
