We are excited to announce our first ever Leaders-in-Training program! In this program, campers who are in grades 9-12 during the spring of 2026 will have the opportunity to join a cohort of other youth who are exploring opportunities to grow their leadership qualities before, during, and after their time at Pilgrim Lodge through both virtual and in-person connections. This cohort of campers will be supported by one another and Pilgrim Lodge’s new Leadership Mentor through the course of their experience together.
This program is FREE to campers through Pilgrim Lodge’s Character at Camp Grant from the American Camp Association, a competitive national initiative supported by Lilly Endowment, Inc. We will receive $100,000 over two years to strengthen programming that nurtures integrity, community-mindedness and leadership. The grant supports a Leadership Mentor who will support each LIT in selecting their own pathway, goals and activities in their leadership opportunities at camp.

Reasons to participate:
The LIT Program is designed to provide participants with choices for how to engage so that experience fits their goals and the way that they want to spend time at camp. LIT participants can add a second week of camp by attending Justice Together: Climate, Identity, Community, become a Counselor-in-Training and support younger campers in their experience of Pilgrim Lodge, or attend Jump Start Work Days, Confirmation Retreat, or Lifeguard Certification Training give back, gain new skills, or deepen their experience at camp.
- Campers who are registered for a full week session have the option to register for Justice Together: Climate, Identity, Community for the cost of only the $100 registration deposit.
- Build your resume for future educational or work opportunities
- Learn skills that could prepare you for volunteer or staff experiences at Pilgrim Lodge
- Get new certifications or community service hours
- Be part of a cohort of other Pilgrim Lodge campers who are learning together
- Have the option to feature your participation on Pilgrim Lodge social media
- Provide input to shape Pilgrim Lodge experiences to benefit you and other campers
- Change the world!
